The first face judgement: the Super Mario RPG bottom-left
Recorded through the app, at /browse/faces, on the corner the whole tool was
built for. `fUSzqEViwBw@113.00`, verdict `recrop`, reason 1 (stream UI in
frame), crop 980,112,300,300.
What the deck said about it, on screen:
the automatic crop sat 92 px off the face to stay inside the frame — that
displacement is what fills the corner with stream UI
side 300px → 300px = 1.00×
So the fix costs nothing in sharpness: the webcam inset is ~302px wide and runs
off the right edge of the 1280x720 frame, and a 300px square inside it resamples
1:1. The automatic crop was 449px wide and had to slide 92px inward to stay in
frame, which is what dragged in the CNBC page, the "SIGN IN" chrome and the
inset's own red border.
Verified end to end rather than asserted:
* REUSE=1 make-thumb in a scratch song dir picked the crop up out of this
file, passed it to facecrop.py --crop, and recorded 980,112,300,300 in
corners[].crop -- along with a box for the other three, which had never
had one
* the rebuilt corner is Jeremy filling the frame, no chrome, no border
* composited onto the shipped rpg-c.jpg at make-thumb's own coordinates, the
cover is the same picture with a face where the browser window was
The shipped thumbs/rpg-c.jpg is NOT overwritten. The manifest records `bgAt`
but not the background FILE, so the exact build for that cover cannot be
reproduced from what is written down -- which is the same class of gap as the
missing crop box, one layer up, and it is the user's call whether to re-cut the
cover or re-record the recipe first.
